Short answer: This calculator estimates platform fees only—not PayPal/Stripe processing—for digital download sellers comparing Payloadz Premium ($49/mo, 0% Payloadz cut) against Gumroad, Payhip, Lemon Squeezy, SendOwl, and Sellfy using fees verified 2026-08-02. PayPal processing fees always apply on Payloadz and most competitors. Results are illustrative; re-check official pricing before contracts.
Who this tool is for (and who should look elsewhere)
For: Sellers with monthly sales volume and average price who want apples-to-apples platform-cut math.
Not for: MoR tax liability valuation—percentage MoR fees bundle tax ops; this tool does not price tax compliance. For fit assessment see Payloadz software review.
Editorial disclosure
Payloadz publishes talk.payloadz.com. The calculator uses Payloadz-verified competitor fees; Payloadz is one line in the comparison.
Methodology
Platform fees sourced from official pricing pages on 2026-08-02:
- Payloadz Premium: $49/mo + 0% Payloadz transaction fees (payloadz.com/#pricing)
- Gumroad direct: 10% + $0.50 per sale; Discover 30% (not default in calculator—use direct unless you tag Discover traffic)
- Payhip Free: 5%; Payhip Pro: $99/mo + 0%
- Lemon Squeezy: 5% + $0.50 (MoR ecommerce)
- SendOwl Launch: from $39/mo + 0% SendOwl cut (volume caps on lower tiers)
- Sellfy: from $29/mo + 0% Sellfy transaction fee
Last editorial review August 2026. Payment-processor fees (PayPal, Stripe) are excluded so platform cuts compare fairly—add processor costs separately.
Disclaimer
Not financial or tax advice. Vendors change plans without notice. Discover sales, refunds, chargebacks, currency conversion, and edge-case Lemon Squeezy fees may alter real costs. MoR platforms include tax handling in their fee model—this calculator does not value that service. Confirm all figures on linked official pages before ads, contracts, or migration decisions.
